    Welding powders and pastes


    Submerged arc welding is one of the most powerful arc welding methods. A key element of this process is the welding flux, which protects the weld from oxidation. The flux forms a protective slag, enabling high-quality welding by degassing the weld.

    Welding fluxes are made from quartz, magnesite, dolomite, alumina, and manganese ore and are classified as acidic, neutral, or basic based on their chemical composition.

    Fluxes for submerged arc welding (SAW) are used for welding thicker materials as well as unalloyed, low-alloyed, and high-alloyed steels. This method is particularly suited for demanding projects, such as welds in shipbuilding, long-distance pipeline construction, boilers, and bridges.
